Sustainable Education Practices of Huddersfield Education Group

Huddersfield Education Group deeply integrates Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) concepts into its education system and operational practices, committed to advancing global sustainable education development. Guided by the mission of "Empowering Sustainable Development through Education", we cultivate future leaders with an ESG perspective through curriculum development, campus construction, research cooperation, and industrial services, contributing to the transformation of society towards a green, inclusive, and responsible direction.

We have designed and launched a comprehensive ESG sustainable development curriculum system covering all academic stages, strictly adhering to UK and EU Level 1-8 standards to ensure that teaching content aligns with international frontiers. The curriculum encompasses core topics such as climate change, green finance, social responsibility, and corporate governance, aiming to provide students, enterprises, and public institutions with a systematic ESG knowledge framework and capacity building support.

We initiated and promoted the Green Campus Index (GCI), an evaluation system for sustainable campus operations tailored for universities in China and around the world. Covering multiple dimensions including energy management, carbon emission reduction, resource recycling, ecological protection, and social responsibility, GCI assists schools in achieving low-carbon transformation and creating sustainable educational spaces.

We actively advance the construction of the Institute of Sustainable Development (National Recruitment Dual Carbon Institute), which aims to become a high-end talent training and scientific research platform in the global ESG and dual carbon fields. The institute features seven functional centers:

- Program Development Center: Develop dual carbon curricula and certification systems that meet international standards  

- nnovation and Entrepreneurship Center: Host the "National Recruitment - Sustainable Development Cup" Global Competition to promote green innovation;

- Global Corporate Dual Carbon Consulting Center: Provide consulting services for enterprises such as carbon management, green power, and ESG rating  

- International Exchange Center: Conduct Sino-foreign cooperative education, student exchanges, and international curriculum introduction  

- Evaluation and Assessment Center: Establish teaching quality and green campus evaluation systems  

- Big Data Center: Support teaching management and personalized educational data analysis  

- Operation Management Center: Ensure high-quality operation and continuous improvement of the institute

We strategically participate in the construction and advancement of the dual carbon comprehensive service system, with profound accumulation in the following areas:

- Joint Construction of Carbon Management Systems: Participate in drafting the group standard "Carbon Management System" to assist governments and enterprises in building carbon management mechanisms   

- Carbon Market Services: Support the operation of provincial carbon trading platforms and enterprise carbon asset management  

- Carbon Neutrality Path Planning: Provide carbon peaking and carbon neutrality implementation plans for governments, industrial parks, and enterprises  

- Carbon Asset Development and Financial Support: Promote the development of CCER projects such as wind power, photovoltaic energy, and forestry carbon sinks, and participate in the establishment of carbon funds  

- ESG Communication and Brand Building: Provide enterprises with ESG report compilation, communication strategies, and brand story crafting services

- Dual-Driver of Education + Industry: Integrate real industrial needs into the education system to achieve in-depth integration of production, teaching, research, and application
